Christen Michael

About Christen Michael:
Christen Michael, born in 1983 on September 29th, raised in The Bronx New York, started his career at an early age doing local talent shows. Christen started doing Christmas commercials on NYC's Public Broadcasting stations and for the"Woman Of The Week" program. Christen enjoyed the spotlights so much, that he entered the performing arts program in his Jr. high school (Castle Hill 127) and high school (Westside H. S. ). where he met his mentors and teachers Philip Belfrom and Barbara Marrinette. They helped bring out a more creative side by tapping into his natural ability for acting, songwriting and screen/playwriting. Through his mentors Philip and Barbara, Christen was able to secure a part in an ABC's "after-school" special "Getting Ahead", along side noted actor/director Tony Danza ("Who's the Boss"). He was than asked to do two Christmas Coca-Cola commercials directed by Award winning director, John Singleton.
At the age of 15 his career in dance began to evolve, when he landed a roll on MTV's dance show "The Grind". MTV used him in numerous commercials, other major MTV productions such as "Say What Karaoke" and MTV's other dance show "Global Grooves". He also appeared on VH-1's "8 Days Of The 80's". As his talent progress he continued to dance and appear in video's and toured with such notables as: Lil' Mo, Busta Rhymes, Biggie Smalls, Lil' Kim, Monica, Queen Latifah, BossMan, Charlie Baltimore, Strings, Swiss Beats, and Treach of Naughty By Nature. Christen then went back to his community to work with inner city youth, as the head acting and dance instructor for the widely recognized after school program "The Beacon Program". There he formed his own dance group "The Prophecy". He named them The Prophecy because he always had a different vision of how dance should be. They brought something eye catching and edgy to each performance that people would always remember. He than moved to ATL to pursue a new talent. He was told by singer Jasmine Suber that he had a distinct and soothing voice and maybe he should look into doing something. But sad to say that dream was shattered as soon as he got there. But everything happens for a reason.
Immediately he moved to Baltimore, and two months later auditioned, just to be a background dance for at the time Universal Records/Violater Recording Artist Lil' Mo But ended up doing the choreography as well. His choreography has been seen world wide on "The Rock Da Mic Tour 03", "The Sprite Simon Detour Live Mall Tour 03", "Seagrams Gin Tour 05", Baltimore's Believe Tour 05", "Stone Soul Picnic 05" "MTV" and Bet's 106 & Park performing the song "Super Woman" with Lil' Mo. Christen choreographed Lil' Mo's first single "Dem Boyz" in the summer of 05', for her third upcoming album "Syndicated - The Lil' Mo Hour" that will be aired nationally in 2006'.
He has made quite a name for himself in his new home of Baltimore, MD where he has worked at dance studios, Westminster Ballet Center (State of the Arts), B.
